The Ministry of Industry and IT of China has posted some images of the next-generation BAW BJ212. The off-roader has retained its recognizable body design but ended up with a completely overhauled, much more modern interior.
The new BJ212 features a snorkel pipe, a
winch and a fender-mounted floodlight on the left-hand side. The spec sheet
mentions it having more ground clearance than the predecessor,
which had 245 mm.
According to AutoHome, the model will no
longer ship with a 2.4-liter Mitsubishi engine rated at 211 PS. Instead, it will utilize a 2.0-liter Dongan Power unit paired with an
eight-speed automatic transmission for 252 PS.
As for the interior, it is all-new and
features a large LCD infotainment display. For those of us who are not fond of
touch-based controls, the buttons all around are physical.
