A group of companies known as the Software République has unveiled the U1st Vision (You First Vision) concept. It’s being billed as a “technology demonstrator” that “hails a new era, moving from ‘mobility services’ to ‘services being mobile.’” Essentially a pop-up store on wheels, the concept envisions a future where services – such as healthcare and bike repair – are mobile and can be deployed where needed. As part of this effort, the concept rides on an electric light commercial vehicle platform known as the FlexEVan. Renault didn’t say much about it, but the concept features a stepped front end with headlights that are connected by a slender bar. We can also see a unique bumper with circular accents that have illuminated elements.
Moving further back, we can see digital
side mirrors and aerodynamically optimized wheels. They’re joined by a rear
compartment which has an expansive window much like a traditional storefront. The
concept is envisioned as a health pop-up, which is designed to address medical
deserts. These are areas where access to healthcare is limited, so a mobile
clinic could help fill the void by providing preventative care, diagnostics,
and treatment.
Given
this, it’s not surprising to see the van has been outfitted with an examination
chair and cabinets full of medical equipment. The concept is also envisioned to
have an artificial intelligence-powered avatar as well as the ability to
communicate with smart devices, such as smartwatches, for health monitoring. While
specifics are few and far between, the FlexEVan is slated to go into production
in 2026. It will be made by a joint venture, known as Flexis SAS, following an
agreement between Renault and Volvo.
Furthermore, the concept “brings together
innovative technologies from the seven members of the Software République and
its partners.” Besides Renault, members include Dassault Systèmes, Eviden,
Orange, STMicroelectronics, Thales, and JCDecaux.
