The all-electric Volkswagen ID.3 hatchback has just received its second update in a year or so. Pre-orders are already running, so let’s take a closer look. Compared to the “Pro” version introduced last year, the new ID.3 “Pro S” features a superior motor delivering 231 PS instead of 204 PS. This allows it to sprint 0-100 km/h in 7.1 seconds – a third of a second faster than before.
The only battery pack available delivers
up to 559 km of range from 77 kilowatt-hours of volume. The
charging power has gone up to 175 kW thanks to a new battery pre-heat feature.
The interior benefits from an updated infotainment
system featuring a better UI and a ChatGPT-based voice assistant. The display
in the middle has once again grown in size, this time around from 12 to 12.9
inches. The transmission selector no longer sits on the dashboard – it’s a
steering wheel stalk now. The HVAC control panel is still physical, but the
sliders have been redesigned.
Last but not least, buyers can now look
forward for a wider list of standard and available equipment. There are new
driving assists to take advantage of, a premium Harman Kardon audio system and
even a new app called Wellness that uses various ambient sounds, lighting and
HVAC settings to ensure that everyone inside the car feels good.
Prices for the new VW ID.3 Pro S start
from € 47,595.
