Fiat has introduced their latest product drop, which is the 500e Inspired By Los Angeles. It’s a not so special, special edition which will set you back US$ 36,000 before a US$ 1,595 destination fee. The new trim edition does have a few unique touches including an exclusive Marine Layer Mist paint job. Its silver-ish hue is “named after the Southern California coastal marine layer that results from air masses of different temperatures and densities interacting, a natural phenomenon from May through June that gives the City of Angels a magical and complex feel.”
Besides the special paint job, the LA
Edition has matte gray mirror caps and black window trim. They’re joined by
17-inch alloy wheels, which can be wrapped in either summer or all-season
tires. Moving inside, there’s a two-tone interior with beige eco-leather seats
and a “soft-touch” steering wheel. Buyers will also find body-color trim and a
seven-speaker JBL audio system with a subwoofer. They should be joined by a
wireless smartphone charger, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a
10.25-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system. Fiat also said the model comes
standard with a Level 2 semi-autonomous driving system that combines adaptive
cruise control with lane keep assist.
Like the previous 500e product drops, the
Inspired By Los Angeles has a 42 kWh battery that powers an electric motor
developing 117 hp and 219 Nm of torque. This setup
enables the car to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 8.5 seconds, hit an
estimated top speed of 151 km/h, and travel up to 240 km on a single charge.
The EV will arrive at U.S. dealerships in
the third quarter and become the fourth product drop overall.
