Hennessy Performance is looking to part ways with one of its modified Ford Broncos but interested buyers should be for the significant premium over the price of a standard Bronco Raptor. The tuning experts from Hennessey started customer deliveries of its Bronco VelociRaptor 500 last year after many months of development. While we don’t know how many examples have been built, this listing is for an Oxford White example. Curiously, the eBay ad says these images are of a similar vehicle and not the actual Bronco the tuner is selling.
Several upgrades make the VelociRaptor 500
stand out from a regular Bronco. For example, Hennessey has installed a
proprietary engine management system for the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6. It
has also added a high-capacity intercooler and tuned the engine to produce 500
hp and 745 Nm of torque. This gives the Ford a horsepower and
torque advantage over the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 which is capped at 470 hp
and 637 Nm.
The Bronco has also been fitted with an
upgraded air filter and sits on 20-inch wheels with 37-inch off-road tires. It
also has a front and rear leveling kit, new front and rear bumpers, and a matte
black brush bar at the front. The exterior features several black Hennessey
badges to let people know this is no ordinary Bronco. The listing adds the
off-roader has been driven just 965 km and comes with a 3-year / ~58,000 km warranty.
Having the privilege of driving around in
a Bronco like this comes at a cost, as the off-roader has an asking price of US$ 144,950. To put that into perspective, a regular Bronco Raptor starts at US$ 91,930 and Hennessey’s VelociRaptor 500 package can be purchased separately
for US$ 28,950.
