With a face only a stormtrooper’s mother could love, here is the limited edition 2024 Aprilia RSV4 X ex3ma superbike. Touted as a “the bike that most closely delivers the riding experience of a modern MotoGP machine” the RSV4 X ex3ma is priced at 80,000 euro with only 30 units being made for online purchase. The ex3ma is the latest in a series of limited edition Aprilia track ready super bikes, following on from the Aprilia RSV4 Xtrenta and the Aprilia RSV4 X.
Aside from a name that sounds like an
unfortunate skin condition, the ex3ma (ex-tre-ma, or extreme) comes with
aerodynamic ground effects bodywork, developed by Aprilia’s efforts in MotoGP
racing. The front wing is lifted off Aprilia’s MotoGP bike, measures 550 mm
wide and generates five times more downforce than the previous Aprilia X
Thirty. The shape of sides of the fairing uses the differential air pressure
between the ex3ma and the tarmac when cornering, increasing tyre grip. The
MotoGP style front wing along with the “spoon” fairing located in front of the
rear tyre and the cornering wings on the front mudguard also increase
aerodynamic efficiency.
Made entirely out of carbon-fibre, the
fairing is crafted by PAN Compositi using the same method of construction as
the fairings used on Aprilia’s RS-GP 24 MotoGP racing motorcycle. The Perla
Black finish draws inspiration from Aprilia’s racing history and pays tribute
to the RS 250 race bike which brought Max Biaggi to three world championships
from 1994 to 1996. Carrying Aprilia 65-degree V-four engine with a displacement
of 1099 cc, the ex3ma gets 230 hp at 13,500 rpm and 131 Nm of torque at 11,000
rpm, the engine itself having a 13,900 rpm redline. This is done with specific
tuning of the V-four, with higher compression ratio, a high-permeability Sprint
air filter, and SC Project exhaust system with titanium headers and twin
tailpipes.
All this is tied together with Aprilia’s
APX ECU integrated data acquisition system. The APX system enables precise
calibration of wheelie control, power, traction control, and engine braking for
each gear, all adjustable on the fly, or using the software in the Yashi laptop
included in the purchase. The RSV4 X ex3ma is fitted with carbon-fibre rims,
reducing weight and unsprung mass, simultaneously enhancing handling,
acceleration, and braking performance. The rims are fitted with Pirelli racing
slicks in the Superbike World Championship, SC1 front in 125/70) and SCX rear
in 200/65 sizing. Other performance bits include oversized water and oil
coolers, made to racing specifications by Taleo Tecnoracing. Performance is
further enhanced with a final drive with titanium crown, lightened sprocket by
PBR, and an RK racing chain.
There is also the right handlebar switch,
a racing component by Jetprime, adjustable footpegs, clutch lever, steering
plate engraved with the model’s serial number, tank cap, engine casing, and
front brake lever guards crafted from billet aluminium. Lucky buyers of the
RSV4 X ex3ma will have the unique opportunity to collect their bike at Aprilia
Racing in Noale, Italy. This also includes an exclusive visit to the Aprilia
Racing Division. In addition to their limited and numbered RSV4, customers will
receive a Yashi laptop, personalised bike cover, dedicated carpet, and a rear
stand.
