Updated for the 2025 model year is the 2025 Honda X-ADV adventure scooter with improvements to low-speed handling. The X-ADV also goes environmentally friendly with the use of recycled material for the bodywork as well as Durabio biomass plastic for some fairing parts. Other improvements include single hand operation of the Durabio windshield, with three levels of adjustment. The headlamps are redesigned, featuring new DRLs that double as turn signals and Honda’s ‘hidden eye’ technique that blacks out the area around the projector lenses, making the DRLs stand out.

The recycling concept is taken further with material from Honda vehicle bumpers used for the X-ADV’s luggage box and seat bottom with the seat using 10% more urethane for added comfort. The seat height is set at 820 mm, reshaped for easy ground reach, while the handlebar height is placed at 920 mm, for a high eye point and aiding rider vision. A new five-inch full-colour TFT screen uses optical bonding to improve visibility in bright sunlight. The display is customisable between ‘Bar’, ‘Circle’ and ‘Simple’ display patterns and offers smartphone connectivity via the Honda RoadSync app. Riding conveniences include Honda’s Smart Key, glove compartment in the front cowl, a 22-litre storage compartment under the seat, and includes a USB-C socket. Auto-cancelling turn signals are included, and controlled via calculation of front and rear wheel speed difference when turning instead of the usual timer.

The rear turn signals feature self-cancelling Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) function. If negative acceleration threshold is detected at a minimum speed of 53 km/h with either brake working, the hazard lights flash to warn other road users a hard stop is happening. hrottle-by-wire gives four ride modes – Standard, Sport, Rain and Gravel – while a fifth User mode allows for custom settings for power delivery, engine braking, ABS and traction control. There are three levels of traction control (plus an ‘Off’ mode) with Level 1 allowing minimum intervention and some rear wheel spin while Level 3 is most aggressive and gives maximum control for slippery roads.

Changes to the X-ADV’s Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) see improvement in starting from standstill and control at low speed – under 10 km/h – especially for U-turns. The are five setting levels for the DCT Level 1 is the most relaxed while Level 4 shifts up at higher rpm and downshifts earlier for more engine braking effect. Level 2 is linked with the X-ADV’s Standard riding mode, while Level 3 is situated between Standard and Sport. For the Gravel riding mode the X-ADV uses a relatively sporty shifting pattern; this has the added functionality of a decreased level of ‘slip’ as the clutches operate from a fully open or closed throttle – to give the rider more direct feel for traction at the rear wheel, and the ability to perform controlled slides off road.

The 2025 X-ADV comes in three colour options for Europe – Pearl Glare White, Matte Deep Mud Grey and Graphite Black. There is also a special edition X-ADV with dual-tone Matte Gold Finch Yellow paintwork.
