Set to enter the Malaysia motorcycle market next year is the 2024 Benda Chinchilla 500 cruiser. The Chinchilla 500 will join two other Benda models in Malaysia, the Napoleon Bob and Dark Flag V4, unveiled during the 2024 Malaysia Auto Show. The Chinchilla 500 was shown to the public during the China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition (CIMA 2024) and is an upgrade over the previous model Chinchilla. Motive power comes from a 475.6 cc V-twin mill, producing 52 hp at 8,800 rpm and 48 Nm of torque at 6,700 rpm.

With the engine mated to a six-speed gearbox with belt final drive, Benda says the Chinchilla 500 is now capable of a 150 km/h maximum speed. With the entire cruiser now weighing three kg lighter than before with an overall weight of 212 kg and 16-litres of fuel in the tank, the Chinchilla 500’s ergonomics have been improved with a new design 705 mm tall seat.

Seen as a simple in design cruiser compared to other models in the Benda catalogue, the Chinchilla 500 borrows styling cues from the Harley-Davidson Sportster. Suspension is done with upside-down forks in front and twin shock absorbers in the rear.

Braking uses single hydraulic discs on the front and rear 16-inch wheels, while two-channel ABS and traction is standard equipment. Riding information is displayed in a single round gauge above the handlebars and LED lighting is used throughout.
