Acura’s most affordable crossover starts at US$ 44,700 and that’s a big problem as BMW, Cadillac, Lexus, and Mercedes all offer a ‘proper’ entry-level model with a lower price tag. Honda’s luxury brand is now addressing the issue with the long-awaited ADX. While the entry-level crossover was originally announced in April, Acura has now dropped four new teaser images and some initial details. Starting outside, we can see the premium compact SUV will have a prominent rear spoiler as well as an angular rear window. They’re joined by a secondary spoiler as well as wraparound taillights with a Chicane motif.

The interior looks the part as we can get a glimpse of the two-tone heated and ventilated front seats trimmed in what appears to be leather and Alcantara upholstery. Designers also installed contrast stitching, a panoramic moonroof, and a Bang & Olufsen premium audio system.

Acura was coy on specifics but confirmed the ADX will have a turbocharged engine. This is interesting to note as the model is expected to be based on the Honda HR-V, which is offered exclusively with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder developing 158 hp and 187 Nm of torque.

This means the ADX could use the CR-V’s turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that packs 190 hp and 242 Nm of torque. Another possibility is the Integra’s 1.5-liter turbo, which has 200 hp and 260 Nm of torque. Many questions remain, but we’ll get our answers shortly as the ADX will debut this fall. While nothing is official, the model could be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which kicks off in November.
