Alfa Romeo has culled the Tonale range in the US, meaning it is now available exclusively as one core version, rather than being offered with three different trim levels. The Italian carmaker did the same with the 2025 Giulia and Stelvio last month, reducing three trim options to just a single model. Unfortunately, this means the base 2025 Tonale costs a lot more than last year’s model. Whereas the 2024 Tonale Sprint started at US$ 43,845, the new sole model available is priced at US$ 48,195. That’s also a hefty hike over the old mid-range Ti priced at US$ 46,500 but is a little cheaper than the US$ 51,040 Veloce that topped out the 2024 family. This new pricing places the Tonale uncomfortably close to the larger Stelvio, which starts at US$ 51,195.

The new standard 2025 Tonale replaces the Sprint, Ti, and Veloce trims, and can now be configured with the available Veloce, Active Assist, and Premium packages. The first of these packages adds red Brembo brakes, a Veloce badge, dual chrome exhausts, aluminum door handles, aluminum shift paddles, and dual-mode suspension.

Shoppers keen to add some extra tech to their Veloce would be wise to opt for the Active Assist Package, which includes Active Driving Assist, a surround-view camera, ParkSense parallel/perpendicular park assist, and auto-dimming exterior mirrors. The Premium Package adds perforated leather seats, ventilated front seats, driver seat memory, ambient lighting, and a power liftgate. Several individual options are available, too, including a moonroof, Harman Kardon premium audio system, 19-inch wheels, and 20-inch wheels. Bizarrely, Alfa Romeo sells a spare key fob as an option on the 2015 Tonale.

A limited-production version of the crossover dubbed the Tributo Italiano, has also been launched for 2025. It comes standard with a bodykit, 20-inch Grigio wheels, red Brembo calipers, dual chrome exhaust, a hands-free power tailgate, a black-painted roof, and aluminum door sills. It also includes driver seat memory functions, perforated leather seats with red accents, and a thumping Harman Kardon sound system.

All 2025 Alfa Romeo Tonale models come standard with a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that works alongside an electric motor and a 15.5 kWh lithium-ion battery to produce a combined 285 hp and 470 Nm of torque. The Tonale can drive up to 53 km on electric power alone.
