Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer
Vauxhall has announced
the 2016 Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer. The vehicle is offered in four trim
levels – Design, Tech Line, SRi and Elite; there are also NAV grades of the
top-end SRi and Elite trim levels. The base Astra ‘Design’ starts at £ 16,585
OTR.
The 2016 Vauxhall Astra
Sports Tourer is up to 200 kg lighter than its predecessor. This has been made
possible due to the usage of high-strength and ultra-high strength low-weight
steels, lighter front and rear axle as well as compact subframes.
The 2016 Astra Sports
Tourer is sleeker and longer, but in fact, has the same dimensions as the
outgoing model. Vauxhall says that the cabin has been made more spacious than
before. The overall luggage capacity has increased by 80 litres and now stands
at 1,630 litres.
Standard features of
the Design grade includes comfort seats, multi-function steering wheel, air
conditioning, cruise control electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors,
remote central locking and R4.0 IntelliLink infotainment system with a 7.0-inch
colour touchscreen supporting DAB digital radio, Bluetooth audio streaming,
Bluetooth mobile phone portal, USB and aux-in.
The 2016 Vauxhall Astra
Sports Tourer is powered by a choice of both petrol and diesel engines ranging
from 1.0-litre to 2.0-litre units having outputs between 100 PS (99 hp) to 200
PS (197 hp). The diesel engine is a 1.6-litre unit powering the ecoFLEX model;
the output is at 110 PS (108 hp) and with start/stop technology the fuel
efficiency and fuel economy is rated at 85.6 mpg (30.20 km/l) and carbon emission at
86 g/km. Detailed performance and power figures have not been released yet.
The all-new model will
start reaching dealerships by March 2016.
