2017 Nissan Titan Pickup
Nissan has introduced the 'standard'
version of the Titan pickup truck at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show.
The new Titan variant acts as the baby
brother of the Titan XD and while it bares visual similarities to the larger
model, it is actually underpinned by an entirely separate chassis that's 14.7
inches shorter than the XD's. Despite the reduced length, the Titan half-ton
remains 79.5 inches wide and has the same sized cab as the XD.
Customers of the entry-level model will
be able to choose between 4x2 and 4x4 drive configurations, three bed lengths
(5.5, 6.5 and 8 foot) and three different cabin configurations (Crew Cab, King
Cab and Single Cab). Furthermore, the same S, SV, Pro-4X, SL and Platinum
Reserve trim levels of the XD are also available on the baby pickup.
Power for the new car comes courtesy of
a 5.6-liter V8 petrol engine with 390 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque on tap. As
standard, this engine is coupled to a 7-speed automatic transmission and once
the model hits the market, a smaller V6 will also be offered.
Sales of the 2017 Nissan Titan will
commence in summer 2016.
