Ram 2500 Off-Road Pack
Debuting at the ongoing Chicago Auto
Show is this; the special 4x4 Off-Road Package for the Ram 2500 pickup.
The package aims to rival the FX4 and
ZL1 packages offered by Ford and Chevrolet respectively and includes all the
usual upgrades to make it more capable off the beaten track.
The biggest mechanical upgrade is the
installation of Bilstein monotube shocks as well as a limited-slip differential
as standard. Additionally, the package includes a set of 18-inch Firestone
on/off-road tires as standard and can be optioned with wider 285 mm off-road
tires. A skid plate has also been installed to prevent underbody damage.
Further aiding in the car's off-road
capabilities is the same hill decent control system as the Power Wagon, enabling
drivers to better control their speed down steep hills without the need to use
the throttle or brake pedals.
The package is then completed with a
large '4x4 OFF ROAD' decal on the rear corner of the bed.
