TVS XL 100
TVS Motor Company has launched the
4-stroke variant of the TVS XL 100 in Tamil Nadu at INR 29,539.
The four-stroke variant of the TVS XL
100 is powered by a 99.7 cc single-cylinder air-cooled four-stroke engine that produces
4.2 PS at 6,000 rpm and 6.3 Nm at 3,500 rpm. The moped can reach a top speed of
60 km/h, and is claimed to return a mileage of 67 km/l under simulated test
conditions.
The XL 100 4-stroke is essentially the
existing TVS XL Super when looked at, as the notable distinction is only the
powertrain. It has a dry weight of 75 kg, a payload of 130 kg, and a fuel tank
capacity of four litres.
The XL brand of TVS is a unique product
that claims its own segment, and is quite popular in terms of sales, especially
in rural markets. The XL Super nameplate crossed the milestone of one crore
cummulative sales last year. It was conceived by T S Srinivasan (TVS Motor’s
late Chairman) and Venu Srinivasan (the current Chairman), in 1980. The TVS XL
range of products is the most affordable two wheeler lineup with IC engines in
the company as well as the Indian market.
