Daihatsu Sigra
Otomotifnet has managed to acquire
exterior and interior images of the Daihatsu Sigra (rebadged Toyota Calya),
ahead of its expected debut in Indonesia at the 2016 GIIAS in August.
One of the images reveals the cabin of
the Daihatsu Sigra, which has 3 rows of theater style seating. The front seats
have fixed headrests with manual seat height adjustments, while the middle and
third row seats have adjustable headrests. The middle row has manual
adjustments for access to the third row, although it’s unclear if it will have
the tumble option.
Occupants in the third row seat get
cup-holders and storage bins on both sides. It is reported to offer a headroom
of 940 mm, 920 mm and 860 mm in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd row seats respectively,
which is slightly more than the Datsun GO+ Panca, on paper. It offers 263
liters of boot volume with the third row seats up and 503 liters with the seats
down, both of which are significantly higher than the Datsun GO+ Panca (48
liters and 347 liters respectively).
The front and rear ends of the Daihatsu
Sigra have also been photographed, featuring cues from the Daihatsu UFC-3
concept as well as Daihatsu’s other products like the Ayla and Xenia. The
Toyota Calya and Daihatsu Sigra will measure 4,070 mm long, 1,600 mm wide, 1655
mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2,525 mm and ground clearance of 180 mm.
Both the Calya and Sigra will offer an
option between a 1.0 1KR-FE engine with 67 PS/89 Nm and the 1.2-liter 3NR-FE
petrol engine with 88 PS and 108 Nm of torque. Transmission options will
include a 5-speed manual as standard, while a 4-speed automatic gearbox is
available for the 1.2 variant only.
The Daihatsu Sigra will launch in the
Indonesian market first, and is expected to be priced between 86-106 million IDR,
while the Toyota Calya could be priced slightly higher, owing to its higher
brand positioning.
