FlyKly
Its founder Niko Klansek is in the field
of electric bicycles since 2011 and quickly identified the need to offer
conversions of classic bikes to electric bikes, so he quickly developed a first
prototype.
This type of kit was presented in
different forms, the MIT GreenWheel or the Copenhagen Wheel, the principle is
simple, battery, motor and controller are housed in the wheel, in this case the
rear wheel.
FlyKly has developed the same technology
and wishes to market it next year, this kit weighs 4kg and features a 250 Watt
motor that allows a 25 km/h max speed while the range can go up to 50 km. FlyKly
works via a SmartPhone application that communicates with the wheel via
Bluetooth.
The FlyKly wheel comes ready to install
in just a few minutes - it comes in 8 colors (white, black, gray, blue, red,
green, yellow, pink) and two sizes 26 and 29 inches. Charging takes 2 to 3
hours, a life of 1000 cycles is announced.
The first deliveries are expected in May
2014 at a price of US$ 599.
