Kyburz eRod
A Swiss firm called Kyburz has unveiled
a very cool electric car that looks sort of like a cross between an Ariel Atom
and a go kart. The vehicle is called the eRod and it is powered by an electric
drivetrain for green driving fun. It’s offered in three different power levels
from a basic version up to a race version.
That race version of the eRod tips the
scales at 650 kg and has 200 hp and 350 nm of torque. That should mean very
impressive performance. The machine is fitted with a 39 kWh battery pack good
for 220 km of range per charge.
The little vehicle uses a tube frame and
can be purchased as a complete ready to go car or as a kit. We have no idea how
much the little ride costs, but it can’t be cheap. eRod is road legal in
Switzerland and whether or not it is street legal in other parts of Europe is
unknown. This might be just the ticket for a city dweller who likes to hit the
track every now and again with his pals for a day of performance driving.
