Renault Lodgy RxE 85
Renault India has reportedly slashed the
prices of the Lodgy 85 PS variants in an attempt to boost the sales. The price
cut ranges between INR 97,000 to 34,000, depending on the trim level.
The upmarket 110 PS variants continue
without any changes in the prices. The entry level Lodgy Std is priced at INR
7.59 lakhs now as against the previous price of INR 8.56 lakhs (Ex-showroom,
Delhi).
The Std will target commercial fleet and
taxi operators. The RxE 85 is now cheaper by INR 80,000, RxL 85 by INR 56,000
and RxZ 85 by INR 34,000. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom Delhi and
are effective from July 2016.
The reduction is price gives the 7-seat
people carrier based on the Duster’s platform a better value-for-money quotient
than before. The company would be hoping to double the sales of its MPV after
the revised pricing.
The Lodgy is powered by the 1.5-litre
K9K diesel engine which is available in two states of tunes. The lower version
produces 85 PS and 200 Nm of torque while the higher version is capable of 110
PS and 245 Nm of torque. The former employs a 5-speed manual transmission while
the latter is available with a 6-speed manual transmission. Both versions send
power to the front wheels.
The Renault Lodgy competes with the
Maruti Ertiga and Honda Mobilio in a price segment which is witnessing fresh
inflow of crossover SUVs of late.
