2017 Honda X-ADV
Honda
Motor Europe has confirmed that the 2017 X-ADV adventure scooter will enter the
market as a new model. It also confirmed the X-ADV will be
shown to the public at the EICMA show in Milan in early November.
Based on the City Adventure concept scooter shown
previously at EICMA in 2015, the X-ADV is a new breed of machine, according to
Honda. Defining the X-ADV has been something of a problem, as it is a long
suspension travel design, but mated to Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT).
Its step-through bodywork – the fuel tank
resides below the rider – makes it a scooter by definition, and a big one at
that. Regardless, the X-ADV’s upright riding position with long-travel forks
and absorber will find favour among commuters.
The X-ADV comes with a five-position adjustable
windscreen to afford varying degrees of wind protection and to suit different
rider heights. An underseat storage area allows the rider to store a single
off-road style helmet.
