Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain (spyshot)
Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the recently spied
E-Class All-Terrain will debut at the Paris Auto Show this month.
The German firm hasn't revealed too many details about the new E-Class
derivative apart from the fact that it will feature “a powerful and robust
look”, expected to include some body cladding, while sharing much of its design
with the existing Estate model.
As the All-Terrain will be based around the same
shell as the Estate, it will be the most practical E-Class model offered,
combining huge amounts of interior space with some basic off-road
functionality, owed largely to its 4Matic all-wheel drive system and adjustable
air suspension.
The E-Class All-Terrain will be
offered with exactly the same range of engines as the standard model albeit for
a slight price premium. This means European-bound models will be available with
a 2.0-liter turbo'd petrol engine, a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel, a six-cylinder and
a plug-in hybrid with a 2.0-liter four and an electric motor.
It remains unclear if an AMG variant will be
offered. Expect the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 as the upcoming
sedan and estate models.
