Opel Vivaro Sport
It's hard to get excited about a van, but Opel is
doing its best with the launch of the new Vivaro Sport. The Vivaro is Opel's version of the same light commercial vehicle alternatively
sold as the Renault Trafic, Nissan NV300 and Fiat Talento. Only Opel is
sprucing up its version to give it a bit more of a sporty edge.
Set to be revealed at the IAA Commercial Vehicles
expo in Hannover, Germany, the Opel Vivaro Sport features 17-inch alloys
(optionally painted black) and either black or silver racing stripes running up
the hood, over the roof and along the flank. Fog lamps and LED daytime running
lights come standard, as do tinted glass (on the passenger version) and a fully
loaded cabin. It also gets a special cargo kit for the rear.
Buyers will be able to choose between diesel engines
producing 125 or 145 horsepower and between Combi passenger, cargo van or
double-cab chassis versions.
With the CorsaVan, Combo, Vivaro and Movano on
offer, Opel credits the diversity of its commercial vehicle lineup with its
rising market share, which now stands at an eight-year high.
