New DS 5 Commande Speciale
DS Automobiles are taking their initiative to
provide customers with unique cars to the 2016 Paris Motor Show, with the DS 5
Commande Speciale.
The vehicle remains pretty much stock, except for
the addition of a glittery deep black bodywork, wrapped up in a one-of-a-kind
shade called Stardust Black, which has been specifically developed for the
lucky customer.
The interior
carries "an exceptional plaited-effect finish on the Nappa leather",
which can also be seen on the central armrest, rear shelf, door panels, and
instrument binnacle, joined by the metallic-effect leather on all the interior
trim parts, including the door handles, steering wheel and roof.
Inside the storage compartments and on the
protective mat, which is said to offer a "softness and thickness unique in
the automotive industry", the customer went for Ametryne Green velour,
inspired by the DS E-Tense Concept. Adding the final touch to the cabin is the
titanium gear lever knob, which has been produced using 3D printing and
parametric design. Unfortunately the company has yet to release some photos of
the interior.
The DS 5 Commande Speciale isn’t the brand's first
unique car, as the French fulfilled special orders for celebrities and
politicians in the past. Projects included bespoke armored vehicles, such as
the one built for General de Gaulle, and partnerships with Chapron coachbuilder.
