The Mercedes-Benz C-Class facelift has been spotted
undergoing testing again, with an Estate prototype being sighted in northern
Sweden by Paultan spy photographers.
There doesn’t appear to be a whole lot
of changes aside from new bumpers at the front and back, which are covered up
on the test mule. Those halogen headlamps that are fitted on lower-spec
variants of the C-Class are also present, retaining their place beside the
Avantgarde front grille.
Inside, a
new three-spoke steering wheel that now has a smaller centre boss, while the
on-wheel buttons are of a completely different design not found on current Mercedes
models.
We get to see a new
touchpad being tested as well, similar to the new COMAND touchpad controller in
the W213 E-Class, although in another interior photo, the interface is
retained. However, the most attention-grabbing interior highlight are the white
accents you see on the steering wheel, door handles and centre console.
Mercedes has to fully reveal its new
C-Class range officially, so some of the items you see may or may not be part
of the production car. According to reports, the mid-life facelift is expected
to arrive by mid-2017.
When it arrives, the new C-Class will benefit from
with Mercedes’ latest 9G-Tronic transmission (used in the W213 E-Class), which
replaces the current 7G-Tronic unit, along with updated petrol and diesel
mills.
