Following its launch in Thailand and Indonesia, Malaysia is the next market to receive the ASEAN-spec 2017 Honda CR-V 7-seater. A Funtasticko reader has snapped the CR-V testing on the PLUS Highway heading from Melaka to Seremban, featuring a light body wrap.

Compared to the outgoing model, the new CR-V is 5 mm longer, 35 mm wider, 39 mm higher and has a 40 mm longer wheelbase, measuring 4,587 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width, 1,689 mm in height, has a wheelbase of 2,660 mm, and a ground clearance between 198 – 208 mm (depending on variant).

The Malaysian-spec Honda CR-V will have an all black interior contrasted with silver and wood garnish, a TFT driver’s display similar to the Honda Civic, a regular volume control knob and a 97-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both driver and front passenger have power adjustable seats. A first for the Honda CR-V in ASEAN markets is the option of third-row seating, which is not available in the model sold in the U.S.

For the Malaysian market, Honda could offer the familiar 2.4L i-VTEC N/A petrol engine with 175 hp & 225 Nm of torque, and the 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine with 190 PS and 240 Nm of torque. Both models will be paired to a CVT as standard.
