Toyota Russia is
considering the Toyota Fortuner for sale later this year. They’re expecting the
Fortuner to be priced from 2 million – 2.4 million rubles and rival the
Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
The Fortuner features sharp exterior elements
characteristic of Toyota’s current styling direction, which collectively add a
new look to their butch body-on-frame SUV. It measures 4,795 mm long, 1,855 mm
wide, 1,835 mm high, has a wheelbase of 2,745 mm and ground clearance of 225
mm.
Some of the features once can expect in the
Russia-spec Fortuner include LED projector headlights, LED daytime running
lights, A-TRC Traction Control (TRC) system, Down Hill Assist Control (DAC)
system, electric tailgate, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, cruise
control, T-Connect infotainment system with satellite navigation and reversing
camera. Exclusive to the Russian market, the Fortuner could offer heated
steering wheel and heated seats in top-end models.
It’s unclear if the Fortuner for Russia will come
with an all petrol engine lineup, or get the 175 hp 2.8l GD turbodiesel engine.
Internationally, the petrol options available for the Fortuner include a 2.7L
VVT-i 4-cyl petrol motor with 166 hp, and a 4.0L V6 VVT-i motor with 235 hp.
Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox, while a 4×4
drivetrain is likely to be optional.
