Hyundai India issued the first teaser of the
third-gen Hyundai Verna today which grants us a glimpse of its front fascia. A
microsite for the same is now live for enthusiastic viewers to register and
receive info.
The teaser reveals the LED DRLs, hexagonal grille
and round fog lamps, which are identical to the North American-spec Hyundai
Accent rather than the Chinese-spec Hyundai Verna. Its exterior is based on
Hyundai’s latest iteration of the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0, and will measure 4,385
mm in length, 1,729 mm in width and 1,450 mm in height, and a wheelbase
spanning 2,580 mm.
Compared to the outgoing ‘Fluidic’ Verna, the car
will have a 10 mm longer wheelbase, 29 mm wider body and an overall length
increased by 15 mm.
The interior continues with the dual tone beige and black colour
combo with a layout akin to the Accent. Features one can expect include a
7-inch touchscreen AVN unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, new
Supervision instrument cluster and multi-info display, chunkier leather-wrapped
steering wheel with cruise control and infotainment buttons, automatic ‘Clean
Air’ climate control, rear parking sensors and camera, dual airbags and ABS as
standard across the range.
For the range-topping SX(O) grade, Hyundai could
offer side and curtain airbags, Auto-dimming mirrors, HID headlamps with auto
function, LED taillamps, and 16-inch diamond cut alloy rims as standard.
The new Verna is expected to hit showrooms in India
in the second half of August. Prices are expected to be slightly higher than
the current car, which retails between INR 7,95,599 to INR 1,317,385
(ex-showroom Delhi).
