DSK Benelli has officially confirmed that the
company will be launching the Benelli Tornado 302 in India next month. The bike will be competing against the Yamaha R3 and Kawasaki Ninja 300.
Deliveries of
the Benelli Tornado 302 will begin in July 2017. It was reported earlier that
the motorcycle had already received the necessary clearances from ARAI (Automotive
Research Association of India).
The Benelli Tornado 302 is anchored on a 41 mm
upside down fork up front and a monoshock in the rear with adjustable preload.
Brakes include 260 mm dual discs in the front with a four piston caliper and a
240 mm unit in the rear with single piston caliper. ABS is expected to be
optional. The European trim Euro 4 compliant bike tips the scales at 190 kg (up
by 10 kg).
Powering the Benelli Tornado 302 is a 300 cc
liquid-cooled, in-line twin cylinder mill coupled to 6-speed gearbox. The
engine is capable of producing 38 PS of maximum power at 10,000 rpm and 27.4 Nm
of peak torque at 9,000 rpm (European spec).
We expect the Benelli Tornado 302 with an
on-road Delhi price of about INR 4 lakhs.
