When you've got a movie that's named Cars, it makes
sense, from a marketing point of view, to promote it with actual cars and
that's what Disney's Pixar studio has done for the third installment of the
series.
What you're looking at are the Le Mans prototypes
that the Craft-Bamboo Racing team will field in the FRD LMP3 race at the
Zhejiang International Circuit in China this weekend. And as you can see,
they're decked out to look like characters from the latest Cars movie.
The #95 Ligier JS P3 is done up to look like
Lightning McQueen, and will be driven by European duo Mathias Beche (of
Switzerland) and James Winslow (UK).
The #95 car mimics the film's new character, Jackson
Storm, and will be shared by IndyCar/NASCAR veteran Alex Tagliani (from French
Canada) and Greg Taylor (Australia). Their respective garages will be decked
out to match as well.
Of course, the windscreen "eyes" make it
impossible for the drivers to see out of the cockpit, so we guess they are just
covers that will be removed in time for the actual race.
