DSK Benelli has launched the Benelli 302R in the country via CBU route at a price of Rs. 3.48 lakh (ex-showroom India).

The DSK Benelli 302R rivals the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the KTM RC390. A 300 cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine powers the 302R. This motor develops 38.26 bhp at 11,500 rpm and 26.5 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm, and it is paired to a six-speed transmission coupled to the wheel via a chain drive. The 302R doesn’t get a slipper clutch owing to cost constraints.

The Benelli 302R employs a light weight lattice frame with steel tubing. 41mm inverted forks at the front and a rear monoshock carry out the suspension duty. The alloy wheels are wrapped with Metzeler Sportec tyres with a 110-section front and a 150-section rear. Dual channel ABS-enabled twin petal discs up front and a single disc at the rear handle the braking.

DSK Benelli is offering a four-year, unlimited kilometre warranty for the DSK Benelli 302R, and customers can also opt for the ‘Happy Savings Plan’ which would further reduce the ownership costs. The 302R’s colour choices include White Rosso, Red Nero and Silver Verde. Pricing, the bike primarily competes with the Kawasaki Ninja 300, which is Rs 12,000 more expensive; produces similar power and comes with slipper clutch, but lacks ABS.
