Spy pictures of the 2018 Mahindra Scorpio facelift
continue to surface online as the official launch nears. Fresh images of
lightly camouflaged test mules have been shared by Motoroids revealing details
of the redesigned nose.
The Mahindra Scorpio facelift features a new toothed
grill. Lower down, the bumper gets revised enclosures housing circular fog lamp
units. Other noticeable changes include new 5-spoke alloy wheels. Previous spy pictures of the 2018 Mahindra Scorpio
have revealed a revised tail lamp cluster with red tint stop lamp glass
replacing the clear lens glass present currently.
Unconfirmed media reports point towards an increase
of 20 bhp in the power output of the 2.2 L mHawk diesel that does duty on the
Scorpio. The Scorpio facelift is also expected to reintroduce automatic
variants armed with an Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic transmission. 4WD will
continue to be offered.
The Scorpio will also gain a new 7-inch touchscreen
with Connected Apps and Ecosense. All Mahindra products will receive Android
Auto within September 2018 as confirmed by a report that emerged last month.
However, the same report adds that the Scorpio facelift will not get the
feature at the time of its launch.
The 2018 Mahindra Scorpio is confirmed to arrive in
showrooms before the end of this year. Much like the current model, the
facelift will also bear a sticker price in the INR 10-15 lakhs range.
