Brochure scans of the soon to launch Maruti Celerio
X have surfaced online on Team-BHP. The Celerio X is essentially a cross
variant based on the Maruti Celerio facelift that just went on sale in India.
Maruti Suzuki will offer the Celerio X in eight
variants – VXi MT, VXi AMT, VXi MT (O), VXi AMT (O), ZXi MT, ZXi AMT, ZXi MT
(Opt.), and ZXi AMT (O). Unlike the standard Celerio, there are no LXi trims on
offer. There will be five exterior colours to choose from – Orange, Blue, White,
Brown, and Grey. Apart from exterior modifications and interior trim and
upholstery changes, the specs and features of the Maruti Celerio X are
identical to the Celerio.
Visually, the Celerio X differs from the vanilla
model with its body cladding around the wheel arches and bumpers, black ORVMs
and roof rails, black alloy wheels, and black inserts on the front bumper
around the fog lamps under the headlights. It also gets bumper mounted
reflector units and a faux silver finish skid plate at the rear.
As opposed to the Celerio’s black and beige interior
treatment, the Maruti Celerio X embraces an all-black cabin. The seat
upholstery is black as well and features a geometric pattern and orange
highlights.
The 1.0 L K10B petrol powering the car produces 50 kW
and 90 Nm and is available with a choice of 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT
gearboxes. Thanks to the additional cladding, the Celerio X is 20 mm longer, 35
mm wider, and 5 mm taller. Its 120 mm ground clearance is the same as the
Celerio’s.
