FCA revealed the 2018 Jeep Wrangler earlier this
week. Yesterday, Jeep’s U.S. website accidentally leaked the 2018 Jeep Wrangler
Unlimited’s starting price as US$ 30,445. Also, the redesigned
model’s equipment list and starting price have leaked online, courtesy JL
Wrangler Forums.
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will sell in three
grades: Sport, Sahara and Rubicon. Standard features, varying as per the grade,
will include 4:1 Rock-Trac HD part-time 4WD system, 70R17C off-road tyres, LED
interior ambient lighting, 7-inch driver information display, automatic climate
control system, leather-wrapped steering wheel, manual 6-way driver’s seat with
(manual) 2-way lumbar adjustment, 8.4-inch Connect 4C infotainment system and
reverse camera.
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will sell only with
a 3.6-litre Pentastar naturally aspirated V6 petrol engine at launch, with
manual and automatic transmission choices. 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder
petrol and 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel engine options will likely follow
later. Their availability may vary in different markets.
The all-new Jeep Wrangler will debut at the 2017 LA
Auto Show on 29 November. Its production will commence in December this year.
FCA will manufacture it only in the 4-door version this year. The 2-door
version will enter production in February 2018. The RHD 2018 Jeep Wrangler will
enter production in June next year.
