Autobild has updated their rendition of the second
generation Audi Q3 recently with cues borrowed from prototypes spied testing.
The 2018 Audi Q3 is expected to be unveiled in the first half of next year at
the 2018 Geneva Motor Show on March 7. Production of the next-gen Audi Q3 will
take place in Gyor, Hungary.
The styling is more of an
evolutionary upgrade over the outgoing model, coupled with cues borrowed from
the Audi Q8 concept. The front fascia has an octagonal ‘Singleframe’ grille
flanked by sharper A4-inspired LED headlamps and redesigned air inlets. As for
the rear, it gets new LED taillamps, as well as a redesigned tailgate and
bumper.
The new Q3 will be based on VAG’s MQB platform,
which also underpins the Q2, A3 Sportback and Sedan in Audi’s range. To better
distinguish from the Q2, expect dimensions to be slightly larger than the
current Q3 which measures 4,388 mm long, 1,831 mm wide and 1,608 mm tall.
Engine options could include a 1.0-liter TFSI, new
1.5-litre TFSI 4-cyl motor, 2.0-litre TFSI petrol, 2.5-litre 5-cylinder TFSI
(RS-Q3) and 2.0-litre TDI motors. Select variants will get Audi’s Quattro AWD
system.
