Hyundai has revealed the 2018 Hyundai Grand Starex
for South Korea. The people mover has received a facelift ten years after it
first arrived.
The Hyundai Grand Starex has incorporated a new
modern front fascia with Hyundai’s signature Cascading grille flanked by
sharper, rectangular headlamps featuring projector lights, a more dynamic
bumper and reshaped fog lamps. Hyundai has raised the hood higher to reduce the
impact on the pedestrian in case of a collision. At the rear, the 2018 Hyundai
Grand Starex gets a revised license plate housing and tweaked tail lamps with
LED lighting.
The interior of the 2018 Hyundai Grand Starex has
substantial changes. Highlights include a new 4-spoke steering wheel that looks
more car-like, a completely redesigned dashboard, centre console and air vents
and Hyundai’s 5th generation infotainment system with an 8-inch floating
display.
The 2018 Hyundai Grand Starex is 5,150 mm long,
1,920 mm wide and 1,925 mm/1,935 mm/1,970 mm (4WD) mm tall. It is available in
9-seat Urban, 11-seat Wagon, 12-seat Wagon, 3-seat Van and 5-seat Van versions.
The new Grand Starex’s 2.5-litre diesel engine produces 140 PS and 353 Nm of
torque in the manual transmission model and 175 PS and 451 Nm of torque in the
automatic transmission model. As an option, customers can go for the 2.4-litre
LPi engine that develops 159 PS and 225 Nm of torque.
The 2018 Hyundai Grand Starex’s prices in South
Korea start at KRW 21,100,000 (US$ 15,600). The new people mover’s
international rollout should commence next year.
