It’s been almost four months since the reveal of the
facelifted Macan and so far Porsche has shown us only the base 2.0-liter
version. Customers who are curious to find out what the refreshed Macan Turbo
looks like can’t see it anywhere at the moment. Fortunately, Carscoops spy photographers got lucky and spotted a facelifted
Macan Turbo prototype for the first time.
As you can see, the performance SUV wasn’t wearing
any camouflage at all, allowing a clear look at its Turbo-specific details.
Those include the squared quad exhaust pipes, bigger wheels, beefier brakes
with red calipers, and different front bumper with Turbo-specific LED DRLs.
The rest of the bodywork adopts the changes that
debuted with the facelift, highlighted by the new LED light panel at the rear and
the standard LED headlights. This particular red prototype also featured a tow hook that allowed
it to do some trailer towing testing. After all, there will be buyers who will
attach trailers to their Macan Turbos to haul their bikes, boats, and whatnot.
As for the powertrain, expect the facelifted Porsche
Macan Turbo to use the 2.9-liter twin-turbo gasoline V6 from the Cayenne S.
That will give the range-topping Macan 440 PS, or 40 PS more than the
base variant of the outgoing model.
Furthermore, it will be just as powerful as the
current Macan Turbo with Performance Package and consequently will offer
similar performance. Expect a 0-100 km/h sprint in under 4.5 seconds
and a top speed of around 170 mph.
