The 2019 Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is quite a
piece of machinery, but after Hennessey laid its hands on it, it’s capable of
punishing all Demons. What was the recipe chosen by the Texan tuner for the muscle car?
The answer is a 4.5-liter supercharger, high-flow catalytic converters and
supercharger bypass valve, upgraded fuel injectors, high-flow air induction
system, and a few other parts.
The result is an impressive 1,035 hp and 1,285 Nm of torque at the crank. Hennessey
claims that, at the wheels, the output is 880 hp and 1,093 Nm of torque. Keep in mind that these numbers were achieved on
the dyno, and with the car running on race gas.
For the sake of comparison, the supercharged
6.2-liter V8 powering the stock Hellcat Redeye pushes out 797 hp and 957 Nm of torque at the crank. This allows the muscle car
to complete the 0-96 km/h run in 3.4 seconds, and to max out at 326 km/h.
Before setting it loose, Hennessey road-tested their
tuned Redeye for 322 km, making sure that everything performs as it
should. They’ve also fitted it with their own badges, serial numbered plaque
and floor mats, and are offering it with a 1-year or 19,312 km warranty, whichever comes first.
