McLaren confirmed the technical specs of the upcoming Senna GTR, the track-only version of the already hard-edged Super Series model. The Senna GTR will retain the active aero elements of the regular Senna, enabling the bodywork to generate 1000 kg of downforce, up from the road car’s already astonishing 800 kg.

The bodywork differences will include wider fenders, a larger front splitter and rear diffuser, as well as a repositioned active rear wing. McLaren says that the wing will be coupled to the airflow coming from the diffuser, resulting in greater downforce at lower speeds, making it more accessible.

Other features include wider tracks front and rear, center-lock wheels, updated aerodynamic performance in yaw for better cornering stability and reduced pitch sensitivity for greater stability under braking.

The car’s suspension will feature the geometry, springs, dampers and anti-roll bars that have been developed in McLaren’s GT3 customer racing programme. Combined with full Pirelli slicks and the advanced braking system, the Senna GTR is expected to be capable of pulling over 3g.

The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 in the McLaren Senna GTR will produce 813 hp and 800 Nm of torque, 14hp more than the road-going version. McLaren still keeps the weight figure of the car under wraps but when the regular Senna is tipping the scales at 1198 kg dry, you know it’s going to be ridiculously light.

The interior will of course be stripped down, with McLaren removing all airbags, the infotainment screen and the folding driver display. Just like in the P1 GTR, the steering wheel will be replaced with a race-style item. The only thing that will remain is air-conditioning because nobody likes sweating in a racing suit. The McLaren Senna GTR is going to be produced in 75 examples only, and the production run is already sold-out. Each one is priced at $1.4 million plus taxes.
