For some people, the only thing better than driving
a brand new Porsche 911, is the thought of driving one with the top down, which
is why the upcoming 992 Cabriolet model should prove just as successful as its predecessor.
We’ve pretty much known what the drop-top 911 would
look like ever since prototypes started going out in traffic nearly a year ago,
when this prototype was spotted out and about in Germany. Now, we know for a
fact what the 992-gen Porsche looks like in Coupe form, following its unveiling
in Los Angeles, we can also begin to speculate as to the Cabriolet model’s
appearance; or, better yet, let someone like Aksyonov Nikita do it.
His digital take on the car is very straight forward
and probably very accurate – after all, there’s not a lot of things to get
wrong. What we particularly like about these renderings is that, from a rear
3/4 angle, the 911 (992) actually looks more stylish and at the same time more
muscular than the 991.2 that it replaces.
We reckon it’s because of that Mission E-like
horizontal light strip, which has since been adopted by the latest Cayenne,
Macan and Panamera, and the wide, finely sculpted rear wheel arches. While initial reports said that
the Convertible would launch alongside the 992 Coupe, this turned out not to be
the case, but we expect that it won’t be long before Porsche unveils it,
either.
