Audi unveiled the all-new A6 back in February and it
will soon be joined by a new S6 as Carscoops spy photographers have caught the model
undisguised. The S6 features an S
line exterior with unique bumpers and side skirts. The car has also been
equipped with honeycomb mesh inserts and a sport-tuned suspension that likely
reduces the ride height by a few millimeters.
While the front of the car closely resembles the A6,
there’s no mistaking it from the rear as the S6 has a four-tailpipe sports
exhaust system. The model also features a unique lower bumper. Rounding out the styling changes
are a set of attractive alloy wheels which cover an upgraded braking system
with silver calipers. The production model should also have faux-aluminum
mirror caps and the obligatory S6 badging.
The minor styling changes will likely continue in
the cabin as we can expect a sport steering wheel, revised trim and alloy
pedals. There should also be new upholstery combinations as well as a 12.3-inch
digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch infotainment system and a lower
8.6-inch display.
There has been a lot of speculation about what will
power the all-new S6 and early reports claimed the car would have a
turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. The engine produces 444 hp and 600 Nm of torque in the coupe and it’s believed the S6 will
have roughly the same output.
