Jeep’s decision to
bring just 20 Grand Cherokee Trackhawks in the UK isn’t going to cause any
riots at their dealerships as the supercharged monster SUV wasn’t going to
attract any significantly bigger demand in the country anyway, but it’s nice to
know that customers there will have the choice of a right-hand drive 700 hp
Grand Cherokee.
Let’s see some
numbers: the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk offers 700 hp and 868 Nm of torque out of its supercharged V8 engine. Paired to it is an
eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic, giving the Trackhawk a 0-100 km/h in
3.7 seconds and a top speed of 289 km/h.
You could even say
that the Trackhawk represents great value, as it’s not only the most powerful
SUV you can buy today, it also undercuts the price of its closest-matching
rivals by around 50 percent, namely the Bentley Bentayga (600 hp) and the
Lamborghini Urus (641 hp).
For “just” £ 89,999, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk
comes loaded with kit too; features like 20-inch titanium finish alloy wheels,
high-quality real metal accents for the cabin, Laguna leather seats, an Active
Noise Cancellation system, leather-stitched instrument panel-doors-center
console-armrest, and a 825-watt Harman Kardon premium audio system to name a
few.
The driver’s
instrument cluster gets a 7-inch digital information display, a centrally
positioned tachometer and a 320 km/h speedometer. The Uconnect infotainment
system features an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and
Trackhawk-exclusive Performance Pages.
The Selec-Trac
all-wheel drive system features no less than five dynamic modes while the
suspension gets active dampers from Bilstein. Massive Brembo brakes are also
present, capable of stopping the Trackhawk from 62mph to a full stop in just 37
meters.
