Citroen’s centenary
celebrations continue with the introduction of yet another concept car at
Vivatech in Paris, France, on May 16. The yet-unnamed show car has been
previewed by an official teaser, which doesn’t divulge anything important apart
from a different logo, inspired by the one used at the brand’s beginnings in
1919.
Described as
Citroen’s “vision of ultra-comfort and full electric”, the new study promises
to “bring motorists a unique traveling experience on board a 100 percent
electric and autonomous object featuring artificial intelligence”. The car is
thus packed with technology that will be used in the French brand’s future
production vehicles.
The concept will be
presented alongside the Ami One Concept, which premiered at last month’s Geneva
Motor Show. The Ami One is smaller than the Smart ForTwo, has room for two
occupants and a range of 100 km provided by a lithium-ion battery
that can be fully charged in just two hours.
Like the
yet-to-be-revealed concept, the Ami One is also bristling with tech. It has a
unique sound signature that changes based on speed, doors that can be unlocked
using a QR code and a head-up projection panel that allows users to interact
with it. Alternatively, they can also use voice commands or a smartphone. The
Ami One has been designed as an alternative both to public transport as well
electric scooters and bicycles.
Citroen will also
present other innovations, such as the Seetroen anti-travel sickness glasses
and the Citroenist editorializer, a platform that facilitates “the access of
media companies to the right information” – whatever that means. Guess we’ll
find out next month.
