UK drivers looking for a new roadster can now place an order on the updated 2020 Mazda MX-5, arriving in dealerships in February priced from £ 23,795. The Japanese two-door is available both as a Convertible and a RF Retractable Fastback. The ten-model lineup features four Convertibles and six RFs, and two engine choices, a 132 PS 1.5-liter unit and a 184 PS 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine.
The new range-topping GT Sport Tech trim boasts 17-inch BBS alloy wheels and Burgundy Nappa leather seats, while the entire range now gets a new Polymetal Grey Metallic paint. The updated MX-5 also gets additional safety gear such as Front Smart City Brake Support, Lane Departure Warning System, Rear Smart City Brake Support, Traffic Sign Recognition and Driver Attention Alert on Sport variants and above. Meanwhile, the Blind Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive LED headlights and a reversing camera are all standard on Sport Tech and GT Sport Tech models.

As for performance, the updated 184 PS version of the 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G unit is said to be not only more efficient than the 160 PS version, but also quicker to 100 km/h – by 0.8 seconds in case of the Convertible, which now hits the mark in 6.5 seconds. The RF models on the other hand are 0.6 (manual) and 0.5 seconds (automatic) faster, respectively.
