If you found TopCar’saTopCar’s
Inferno body kit for the Mercedes-Benz G-Class to be a bit over the top, the
Russian tuner has a solution in the form of a ‘Light’ version that will let you
keep the SUV’s stock bumperThis gives the G-Wagen a slightly different
appearance, as it now looks almost as angry as before thanks to the new hood
and all the carbon fiber, but not quite as bulky – something certain buyers
could appreciate.
The tuner also states that at
the request of the client, only certain carbon fiber elements from the Inferno
package’s over 40 pieces can be installed on the vehicle. For some, it’s
definitely an interesting choice, although others might argue that if you’re
“doing this” to your G-Class, then you might as well go all the way and add the
custom bumpers too.
Should you decide to go for the
full treatment, that means spending nearly US$ 45,000, resulting in additional LED
lamps, a roof-mounted rear spoiler, shark logos and the aforementioned bumpers,
plus the custom hood.
As for performance, these mods
are mainly cosmetic, which means that your AMG-powered G63 will still put down
577 HP and 849 Nm of torque thanks to its
twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. With the aid of a nine-speed
transmission, the luxury SUV can accelerate from zero to 96 km/h in
4.5 seconds, which is very impressive. The top speed meanwhile is 239
km/h, as long as you opt for the AMG Driver’s Package.
