Jeep continues its 80th anniversary celebrations by announcing the launch of the Renegade and Wrangler 80th Anniversary Editions in the United Kingdom. Set to arrive in showrooms this spring, both of them feature exclusive touches inside and out, and build on the best-selling variants locally. The 2021 Renegade 80th Anniversary boasts Granite Crystal accents on the grille, ‘80th Anniversary’ logos, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with DRLs, and rear privacy glass. The black leather seats with tungsten stitching, black headliner and ‘80th Anniversary’ accents complete the look inside.
Based on the Limited spec, the special
edition subcompact is equipped with the 8.4-inch touchscreen display and features
sat-nav, digital radio, and smartphone integration. The forward collision
warning, lane departure warning plus, intelligent speed assist, adaptive cruise
control, driver drowsiness detection, traffic sign recognition, and front and
rear parking sensors are standard.
Power is supplied by a 1.0-liter three-pot
petrol engine, which develops 120 PS and 190 Nm of
torque, combined to a six-speed manual transmission, or a 1.3-liter four-pot,
rated at 150 PS and 270 Nm, mated to a DDCT. Both
variants are offered with front-wheel drive exclusively.
The 2021 Wrangler 80th Anniversary gets
the Neutral Grey Metallic grille, headlamp and fog lamp bezels, 18-inch
two-tone alloy wheels, LED headlights, body-colored hardtop and ‘80th
Anniversary’ badging. More ‘80th Anniversary’ inserts can be found in the
cabin, alongside the black leather upholstery with tungsten stitching, and
Berber floor mats.
Standard features include the 8.4-inch
infotainment system, 7-inch TFT display, Alpine audio with subwoofer, and the
brand’s Uconnect Services in a premiere for the Wrangler. The blind spot
monitoring with rear cross-path detection, forward collision warning, advanced
brake assist, adaptive cruise control with stop function, front and rear
parking sensors, reversing camera, and keyless entry & go are on deck.
A 272 PS and 400 Nm 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine is the sole power unit in this
model, which comes with the eight-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel
drive system with full-time two-speed transfer case. Pricing details for
Britain will be announced in due course.
