Mitsubishi has announced the pricing details of the redesigned 2022 Eclipse Cross, which now features a range of upgrades both visual and under the skin. Prices for the 2022 Eclipse Cross start from US$ 24,590, including a US$ 1,195 destination/handling fee, for the base ES trim. Mitsubishi offers the option of its Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system with every trim level for an additional US$ 1,600.

leather seat option, featuring black accents and color-coordinated door cards.
In addition, LE, SE, and SEL trims feature front heated seats as standard. The
biggest change in the upgraded interior of the 2022 Eclipse Cross is the new
eight-inch infotainment system that’s available on LE, SE, and SEL trims. The
touchscreen has been moved two inches closer to the driver and features
physical volume and tuning knobs for ease of use, ditching the previous model’s
center console touchpad. The new infotainment system also features Apple
CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
Mitsubishi hasn’t revealed yet any details
on the available powertrains; they have confirmed a plug-in hybrid powertrain
for the 2022 model in certain markets, but the U.S. appears to be getting just
an updated 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine. The outgoing Eclipse Cross was
offered with a single 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 152 HP.
The redesigned exterior sports a new front fascia incorporating the company’s
latest and more dramatic ‘Dynamic Shield’ styling. This includes a new front
grille with chrome ‘X’ detailing on the sides, as well as new LED headlights
and DRLs. The rear end is also updated with a new hatch and window.
The styling revisions made the 2022
Eclipse Cross slightly larger than before, adding 5 inches to the vehicle’s
length, measuring 178.9 inches long, 71.1 inches wide and 66.3 inches high in
2WD, and 66.5 inches high in AWD configurations. The wheelbase remains
unchanged, at 105.1 inches.
Mitsubishi’s designers increased both the
front and rear overhangs in order to improve the proportions of the Eclipse
Cross and increase its cargo capacity by one additional 28 lt. The
maximum luggage capacity now measures 662 lt with the rear
seats up, and 1,418 lt with them folded down.
Mitsubishi’s compact SUV also features a
revised suspension, with retuned dampers and springs, including a set of larger
rear shock shafts for better ride control. In addition, the rear suspension
cross member is now connected by a double vibration insulator for a more rigid
connection, offering a more “planted” feel on the road than the previous model.
