Aftermarket parts for the BMW 745Le xDrive may be somewhat hard to come by, but if you want a power upgrade, sports suspension and new wheels for your plug-in hybrid luxury sedan, then Dahler has the solution. Starting with the power upgrade, the Swiss tuner has increased the 3.0-liter six-pot’s output from 286 PS and 450 Nm of torque to 408 PS and 600 Nm.
The overall system output now stands at
521 PS and 865 Nm, up from the stock car’s 394 PS and 600 Nm. The electric motor, which is
integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission, has been left untouched
and still generates 113 PS and 265 Nm.
The buffed-up electrified 7er is thus more
powerful than the new M3 Competition, whose 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six
puts out 503 HP and 650 Nm. In addition to tuning
the engine, Dahler has also lifted the V-max and has equipped the car with a
stainless steel exhaust system, for an improved sound, and a sports suspension
that lowers the body slightly. However, the latter is only compatible with
models that do not feature the adaptive air suspension.
Wheels that are not OEM are oftentimes hit
and miss, especially on a a luxury sedan, but in this case, the tuner went for
a classic design, albeit in quite a big size: 22 inches. The lightweight rims
are part of their CDC1 Forged series, and are just one proposal, as
alternatively, customers can order the 21-inch set too in different finishes.
