Nissan has issued yet anone teaser of the 2021 Qashqai / Rogue Sport before its unveiling on February 18. The brief video provides us with our first glimpse of the redesigned taillights used by the new Qashqai. These lights are more striking than those featured on the outgoing model and are complemented by new headlights similar to those of other new Nissans.
A handful of other key details are
revealed in this teaser. For example, we can see that the wing mirrors have
been moved from the A-pillars to the doors. The new Qashqai / Rogue Sport also
features black mirrors, black pillars, and a gloss black roof to contrast the
bright blue paint adorning the exterior of this example
A previous teaser released by Nissan
earlier this month revealed that various alterations will also be made to the
interior. For example, there will be a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a new
9-inch infotainment system, and a 10.8-inch head-up display. Other key features
will include a wireless charging pad, ambient lighting, heated seats and
steering wheel, Nappa leather upholstery, and the option of a premium audio
system.
Powertrain details for the U.S. market
remain unknown, but in Europe Nissan’s new compact SUV will be available with a
new e-Power hybrid unit that features a 155 hp 1.5-liter variable-compression
petrol engine and an electric motor that drives the rear wheels, for a total of
187 hp. An entry-level version combining a 1.3-liter DiG-T petrol engine with a
12-volt mild-hybrid system will also be available in 138 hp and 156 hp guise.
