Chinese car marque Zhiji Auto, which is backed by Alibaba Group and SAIC, has unveiled its first production car: the IM, a large all-electric sedan based on a brand-new chassis.

The four-door newcomer is pitched as a Tesla Model S rival. Its triple engines – one front and two rear – join their efforts for 544 PS and 700 Nm of torque, taking it from nothing to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

Other announced features include an autopilot system based on NVIDIA Xavier supercomputer tech, a LIDAR, 15 cameras, a 5mm radar, and 12 ultrasonic radars. The car will be present at the 2021 Auto Shanghai show and should reach the market next year, the company says.
