The latest revision of the BMW M4 GT4 is already in development and should hit the racetrack in 2023. In the meantime, a new batch of official photos depict a couple of prototypes testing on a circuit in Spain.

The GT4 vehicles shown look production-ready with their engine, transmission and electronics borrowed from the road-legal M4. The roof and the carbon-fiber rear wing stem from the M4 GT3 racer. In addition to this, BMW is developing a range of nature-friendly materials to substitute for the carbon and plastic.

According to Jens Klingmann, the test driver, the GT4 racecar is still at early testing stages, although considerable progress has been reached compared to the old M4 GT4. Among other things, improvements were made in seat ergonomics, steering ease and additional controls. The car comes with may useful features absent in the current version.

The current BMW M4 GT4 debuted in 2017 and participated in the 2018 season. Depending on the racing series they participated in, buyers could choose from four available boost settings. Prices began from € 169,000.
