After launching the Lancia Delta Integrale Futurista restomod, coachbuilder Automobili Amos hits back with a different and rally-focused variant of the iconic Italian hatchback: the Lancia Delta Safarista. The cool-looking rallycar is based on a Delta Integrale 16V, with the conversion costing an eye-watering € 570,000 (US$ 642,133) not including the price of the donor car. Automobili Amos will build up to 10 units of the Safarista, securing the exclusivity of the build.
Exterior modifications include a bespoke
carbon-fiber body with a three-door conversion and a wide bodykit that includes
boxy fenders, a bulged bonnet, and a large rear spoiler. Compared to the
Futurista, the Safarista has a raised suspension with all-terrain tires
allowing it to tackle any terrain, as well as redesigned front and rear bumpers
and mudguards.
Likewise, the cabin has been stripped out
for a purposeful look. Automobili Amos added a full roll cage for extra safety,
a pair of bucket seats with four or five-point harnesses, a digital instrument
cluster behind the steering wheel, a racing-style handbrake, a full-size spare
wheel, a fire extinguisher, and Alcantara upholstery on the simplified
dashboard.
The turbocharged 2.0-liter engine from the
stock Integrale has been upgraded with a new cooling system for water, oil, and
air in order to perform in harsh conditions. Power is transmitted to all four
wheels through a sequential gearbox with the help of rally-derived
differentials. The chassis has been reinforced to meet Group A regulations and
the car is also fitted with adjustable suspension, upgraded brakes with steel
discs, a motorsports fuel tank, and a hydraulic handbrake.
According to the company, the Safarista
program is offering their customers “a non-competitive experience, to enable
them to safely reach their limits and those of their car, surrounded by
incredible nature contexts from Sweden ice-ring to the dunes of Arabia.” If you
are interested in the conversion, own an Integrale, and have an extra € 570,000
(US$ 642,133) to spare, you should act fast since the ten examples are probably
going to be sold out pretty soon, with the first deliveries scheduled for 2023.
